God calls us to serve Him by serving one another. We are each uniquely created and shaped by God for that purpose. Part of belonging to a church family is learning to joyfully serve by helping each other grow in faith, supporting each other in our daily lives, meeting each others needs, and guiding people to lives of Gospel transformation. Below are a few ways to get involved in serving at Northview Mission. Click “I want to serve!”  to fill out the form and a staff member will contact you with the next steps!

I want to serve!

Greeters: You don’t need a background in hospitality, but you do need a smile and warm disposition! We’re always looking for positive faces to welcome people to church.

Ushers: If you enjoy making people feel welcome, helping them find a seat, and answering questions, this is the job for you!

Connect Desk: When people need more information about weekly programs and ministries, they head for our connect desk. If you like to be in the know, we’re always looking for people who can step up and provide clarity for those who may have questions about all that goes on at Northview.

Coffee Team: Coffee doesn’t brew itself, and that’s why we need you! We have an awesome team of people who are looking for others to join them as they faithfully set up our beverage stations with fresh coffee and tea each weekend.

Pastry Team: We are looking to grow our Pastry Team! This job changes each week, but may involve baking, cutting, plating, icing, and serving tasty treats each Sunday morning. Sampling cookies and fresh baked goods is often a “perk” of this job!

Sound Techs, ProPresenter, and Camera Operators: Our team works behind-the-scenes to ensure every service runs smoothly and beautifully. We are always looking for more help since sound and projection operators are needed at almost every event.

Worship Teams: If God has gifted you with musical or technical talent, we want you to be able to use it for His glory! This is a somewhat complex ministry with many moving parts and members. Our Worship Teams are utilized in a variety of ministries in addition to our weekend service including Youth and Special Events.

Nursery, Preschool, Grade School: If laughter, giggles, arrowroot cookies and soda crackers sound like a good time to you, you might find our Children’s Department a perfect fit. We highly value our Children’s safety and health, both physically and spiritually! If you love sharing about Jesus and God’s Word, we would love to hear from you! (6 months – Grade 5).

Special Needs Assistance: Volunteers are needed to provide supportive care to children of all abilities at our 9AM service. Help provide inclusive support in the classroom.

Middle or High School Youth Leader: Youth leaders are the backbone of youth ministry and are needed during our youth nights on Tuesdays and Thursdays. If you’d like to be a youth teacher, role model, encourager, and friend, sign up today!

Community Groups: We are looking for men and women who are willing to serve as leaders of these groups. Leadership means shepherding a group of people as you yourself continue to model a life of repentance and following after Jesus.

If you are interested in serving as a Community Group leader, check out our Community Group page or email mission@northview.org.

The Pantry: The goal of this initiative is to re-focus us on the very nature of the church – to be in community and support one another. We call it The Pantry; a place where people may find food, friends, and purpose. Sunday afternoons from 1-3PM we welcome the public to our drop-in pantry and serve a warm meal, free of charge. There are many roles that need to be filled in order for this ministry to run successfully.

The Garden: Behind Northview Mission we have a large-scale garden where we grow a lot of our own produce. These fresh ingredients are used in the meals we prepare for The Pantry. If you don’t mind getting your hands dirty, this may be the job for you!

Helping Hands Meals: Our cooking and baking teams serve mid-week by getting meals ready for The Pantry, preparing and freezing meals to give out to those in need, and baking treats for our various ministries. If you enjoy spending time in the kitchen we would love to have you join the team!

Home Hampers: We provide household necessities to individuals and families escaping difficult situations who are starting fresh in a new home. We shop for requested items and prepare them to be given to those in need. If you enjoy shopping for a good deal and presenting the purchases in a tasteful way, we would love your help. This serve opportunity is not regularly scheduled as it depends on the hamper requests we receive.
